Marie
"I never would lie about my age," says San Diego County resident, Marie McMurry. "You're just as old as you are and you can't go back." A feisty 85-year-old with a sharp sense of humor, Marie enjoys her life today, and talks frankly about how a reverse mortgage from Financial Freedom has given her the peace of mind to continue to live independently in her home of 46 years. "My husband built this house himself. It's small, but I love it. I wouldn't want to live somewhere else, this is my home."
Two years ago, Marie had a heart attack that put her in the hospital for a while. Back home afterwards, she needed 24-hour nursing care until she could get back on her feet. "The hospital and the nursing was expensive. I am sure grateful that I had the money available to use when I needed it." Marie had selected the Financial Freedom Plan with an annuity, which gives her a monthly check to spend however she sees fit. "I've also put a lot of the money into fixing up the house," she added. "I had it painted and just this year put up a new fence."
Marie also invests some of her checks in CDs, "putting it away for the future," she says. "I can't say enough good things about this loan. I investigated for five years before I finally made the decision which reverse mortgage to get. I even changed my mind about this one once, but Monte (Homeowner Representative Monte Rose) was so nice and patient. He answered all my questions and made it very easy. It was the right decision for me, and my family thinks so too. The payments always come on time and the people are always helpful. I wish I could say more good things about Financial Freedom's reverse mortgage, but you'd think I worked for them if I did."
